I've been working on a labor-intensive Moda Bakeshop Project and needed a quick and easy quilt for a break. Luckily, I have a friend having a baby soon, so I could pull the whole, "Hey...what do you think about spending $10 or $15 on a baby gift for our friend?" So, this quilt came to be. (FYI: That only covers the patterned squares and the binding...I had all the other supplies on hand).
The fabric is Boat House by Sweetwater, and it turned out so cute - I'm tempted to keep it.
Its my first time using the Linen Mochi Dot fabric by Moda - and I really like it. I love how it adds to the stark red and blue, and it's soft enough to use in a baby blanket.
Last - I really like making my baby blankets with the Ultra Cuddle fabric from Joanns. I don't use batting, just the quilt top and the cuddle fabric. I think its the perfect weight for baby blankets.
My baby boy's birthday is coming up - this is him on one of the first quilts I ever made. Now he's going to be 2! I guess that day in and day out of diapers, naps, snack time, dinner, dishes, repeat really add up to a lot.
Very cute! I think sweetwater has some of my FAVORITE fabric.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric - Happy Birthday David!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt so much! The fabric looks so good with the simple pattern, I really love it. And I can't believe it's already David's birthday, give him a big hug for me :)
